I was having a particularly rough day yesterday and quite accidentally stumbled across this reading while digging through some papers in my kitchen.  God has a way of helping us find these things when we need them the most :).  The parent's hand out from Winter's Community Bible Study class:

God is Big Enough

"The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation." (Exodus 15:2)

Moses and the Israelites sang for joy! God led them out of bondage loaded with gifts from the Egyptians. He supplied bread for their journey, parted the Red Sea, and provided a visible sign He was with them, night and day. They had reason to dance and celebrate!

God assured His people of His presence using visible signs -- a cloud by day and pillar of fire by night. We don't follow miraculous signs, but we can learn from the ones God gave Moses.

Daytime could represent times we feel hopeful and confident. God shows us the next step we should take.  We see the dangers that lie ahead and there is no doubt God is with us. Our faith is strong.

Nighttime might represent times we feel afraid or doubtful. The future seems uncertain and God only gives enough light for the next step. Fear may cripple us as we face new situations. We know God is there but trusting requires effort.

God, the Pillar, was with them day and night. God is with us too, no matter how we feel He is working even when we see little evidence. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1).

God is big enough to lead us through the "Red Seas" of our lives as we face the worst situations. He will always provide and meet our needs. "For nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37)
